Black Box
The weather was absolutely perfect on this morning, so we could see everything very clearly. You knew that there had been a terrible eruption but you couldn’t see any machinery, you just see this collapsing ice. When we got closer, the pilot said there was something on the radar that he hadn’t seen the day before. Then we saw for the first time what had happened in the crater. We saw nothing but black ice, covered with ash and then water with floating ice blocks and ash at the bottom. We only got a very brief glimpse but you really felt you were seeing something nobody had seen before. I got really afraid, My heart missed a beat. I felt this had already happened but I was about to see it again…
Čierna skrinka
V toto ráno bolo počasie úplne perfektné, takže sme mohli všetko vidieť veľmi jasne. Bolo jasné, že tam bol nejaký otrasný výbuch, ale nebolo vidieť žiaden stroj, iba vidíš iba tento rúcajúci sa ľad. Keď sme prišli bližšie, pilot povedal, že na radare bolo čosi, čo tam deň predtým nebolo. Vtedy sme uvideli po prvýkrát, čo sa v tej jame stalo. Videli sme iba čierny ľad pokrytý popolom a ešte vodu s plávajúcimi ľadovými blokmi a popolom naspodku. Pozreli sme sa len veľmi letmo, ale bolo možné cítiť, že to, na čo sa dívaš, ešte nikdy nikto nevidel. Začal som sa naozaj obávať, srdce mi zovieralo. Cítil som, že sa toto už stalo, ale ja som vedel, že to uvidím znova…
