Pozadie vzniku skladby Reload (Junkie XL + Gahan)

Junkie XL len nedávno v rámci série videí #JXLOneTake, odhalil zaujímavé skutočnosti vzniku skladby Reload, ale aj rôzne technické detaily.

Skladba Reload vznikla v roku 2002 a dostala svoj názov z dôvodu, že mala byť titulnou skladbou filmu The Matrix Reloaded (2003). Zjavne sa tak nakoniec nestalo a Junkie XL mohol skladbu umiestniť na svojom albume - Radio JXL: A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin.

Nahrávanie spoločnej skladby prebehlo behom jednej noci, avšak Junkie XL sedel v masterdamskom štúdiu a Dave zasa v Los Angeles. V štúdiu bolo zakázané fajčiť, avšak nenašiel sa nikto, kto by to Daveovi zakázal.

Junkie XL tiež ozrejmil, že v skladbe zakomponoval aj zvuk charakteristický pre The Chemical Brothers, s ktorým prišli prvý krát v roku 1993. Viac sa môžete dozvedieť z videa.
